Traffic Manager

The Traffic Manager is a person that has shown experience in the design and execution of a car management and/or traffic plan for layouts.
The Traffic Manager must have designed and implemented train movement and car management schemes for two layouts, including but not limited to designing and implementing a car card or waybill system; JMRI Ops or similar program; or using spreadsheets. The idea is to show competency in thinking through and implementing an operating scheme, different from the track planning aspect. Design of schedules, string charts, a staging plan, and the car movement scheme are all considered aspects of Traffic Management for an operating layout.
To apply for credit toward the Traffic Manager Achievement, applicants must provide descriptions of their work as described above.
