Mentor

The Mentor is a person that has shown a commitment to mentoring less experienced or new operators. The Mentor must have served as a dedicated helper to less experienced or new operators who are mentored for an entire operating session on three occasions. The goal is to encourage the participation of new operators by recruiting them to join operating events and/or being generally nearby during such events to provide ongoing assistance. An example is attendance at an operating session where the Mentor is proactively paired with a relatively inexperienced attendee and spends the session assisting and educating that attendee (possibly while operating together).
To apply for credit toward the Mentor Achievement, applicants must provide descriptions of their work as described above and a written statement from the layout Host or mentee.
