Frequently Asked Questions
I have travelled more than 100 miles for sessions all the time, do these qualify?Generally, we are looking for participation in formal operating weekends where you can immerse yourself in operations for 2-3 days. These are the events that are hosted by a committee dedicated to this purpose ans often recur annually or bi-annually.
I have been to operating sessions as part of my regular trips to NMRA National or Regional Conventions, do these qualify?Yes, but also no. Don't use these sessions toward your Boomer submission because they dont meet the criteria set forth in the question above. But, these sessions qualify for credit toward the C&E award, and if you had a job like Office Crew, Dispatcher of Yardmaster they may qualify in those categories too.
I can't remember exact dates.Well, do your best to tell your story of traveling to various operating weekends. if you are having trouble remembering and coming up with three pretty solid examples, make it your goal to get out there soon... but we will give your application every possible consideration.
